As many of you know, I’m engaged to a beautiful woman from Newfoundland; we’re gettin’ hitched next

August. Well this August, it’s her sister’s turn to walk down the aisle, and we’re going from this here rock to that there rock to attend the wedding. It’s also my fiancee’s first trip ‘down home’ since she moved out here three years ago. Naturally, we have a fairly busy schedule ahead of us, and I’m told that my “screech-in” is scheduled for the evening of our arrival on Saturday.
This will also be the first time I meet her parents and immediate family. I’ve spoken to them on the phone, so I’m not too nervous, but it’s hard not to be a little bit – these are my future in-laws after all. Marg has told me that her dad loves to “embarrass the fellas,” so I’m sure I’m in for a little bit of friendly abuse.
I love to take pictures – and, going with the job description, love to take pictures of houses. I can’t wait to visit some small outport towns in Newfoundland and fill my memory card with photos of quaint seaside villages and scenery. I’ll try and post a few here and on my Flickr page.
The plan is to post updates on the trip every few days – I hope you’ll check back. An easy way to follow along would be to bookmark this address: http://642Blog.ca/tag/newf/ which will bring up any posts that I write when I’m away.
I look forward to the adventures, and hope to keep you all updated and entertained.
